How much will it cost to fix my car?

This is a common question for all repair shops. Whether it is an issue with the brakes, the cooling system, or a funny noise. The problem with the answer is that there are a number of systems on cars today, all of which work together to make it perform properly. Also with the onset of electronics, the need for diagnosis to accurately repair your car has increased dramatically. So to quote a price over the phone to repair your car would be doing you a disservice at best and a bait and switch at worst. There is no way to know what is really needed to repair your car without diagnosing the issue in person.

Why is the diagnosis so expensive?

With today's cars, they can no longer be repaired by "Fonzy" with a hammer and a pair of pliers. The average car today has multiple on board computers that will only communicate with expensive scan tools. Further more, the need for accurate information is at an all time high. With new models coming out all the time for all of the manufacturers, shops must subscribe to multiple technical services just to stay up with the changes. The technicians also have to continually stay up to date with all the new technology and this requires constant training.

Why are you more expensive than other shops?

There are a variety of factors that go into setting rates. Our parts are more expensive because we offer an industry leading 3 year 36,000 mile Nationwide warranty. In order to do this we must use the highest quality parts available. As far as the labor rate, that goes to pay the technicians wages, their training, the technical services, and the equipment required for maintaining and repairing today's cars. There are also local, state, and federal fees that are imposed for handling and disposing of materials such as old tires, used fluids, and building maintenance. Yes, building maintenance. Incorporated cities require a certain appearance for businesses under their jurisdiction. Bad Rock also supports a number of charities and local nonprofits. Such as Woodland Park High School Sports teams, Panther Enterprises, Parks and Rec teams, Habitat for Humanity, Fathers in the Field, as well as the local church. So you see, auto repair and service is expensive but it is less expensive to maintain your car than wait for it to break down. We want our guests to enjoy worry free driving at its best.

I was horrified to see smoke coming from under my hood when stopped on Hwy 24 for a rock slide. I stopped at Bad Rock and the mechanic determined a boot was leaking oil on the exhaust and didn't need to be immediately fixed. He checked my oil..added some and wouldn't take any money. Thank you Bad Rock for the wonderful honest service!
